MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Canadian Nehru Trophy Boat Race. Enjoying the Nostalgic Experience

Brampton Malayalee Samajam is deeply honoured to bring the exhilarating and hair raising experience of the world renowned Nehru Trophy Boat Race to Keralites and other community members of the GTA for the second time to Canada . We are proud to be presenting very unique events to the benefit of the community and raise our profile among the Canadian Public. We are also humbled by the fact an organization which is only 3 years old is capable of creating an euphoria that lingers in the mind of the young and old alike for long time to come.

Boat races are quite common in Kerala during the months of July to September especially during the Great Onam Season. Nehru Trophy established in the name of first prime minister of India is the largest and the best amongst them . While some boat races combine ceremonial processions along with competition Nehru Trophy Boat race is a Boat Race competition at its best. Though on a much smaller scale, Boat race at the Heartlake promises to be no less of an experience than the one played in the back waters of the Vembanad Lake What started last year as an experiment with destiny, the resultant appreciation and encouragement we received ever since has given us great confidence to conduct it at a much larger scale this year. The calm waters of Heartlake is about to witness another milestone in the achievements of our young but the most vibrant Malayalee organization in Canada, in fact in North America On behalf of the executive committee and members of the BMS I take this opportunity to welcome you all to be part of our success for this year and for years to come.
