Brampton Malayalee Samjam is the socio-cultural organization of people who have their origin in Kerala, the southern state of India, and have chosen the Brampton and surroundings as their home. The recent migration of Indians has brought a fair share of Malayalees also to this region. They include those who came directly from Kerala, other parts of India, the Middle East, and even the UK. Our organization wants to bring our youth to mainstream Canadian Society by making them aware of the challenges, opportunities, and
responsibilities. I am honored and humbled as I take on the leadership of Brampton Malayalee Samajam for the last few years. While I understand the immense responsibility entrusted to me, I find great satisfaction in serving and leading an organization representing the Malayalee community in Ontario, Brampton. I am greatly honored to work together with a team of passionate, capable and committed people.
Our vision is to approach the socio-cultural issues of the community differently. Since the inception of this non-political, secular, non-profit organization, it was working to better our community, in many ways, stretching a helping hand to the needy. One of our main goals is to assist and promote social, cultural, and recreational activities for the benefit of the community, thereby enhancing and enriching our cultural values.
BMS gives our children a great opportunity to network and to build a support system to face up to their unique social and cultural challenges. Furthermore, this is a great opportunity for us to celebrate and renew our friendship.
Thank you very much for your continuing support of BMS. Let us together pursue our dream for a Malayalee community with a strong voice and presence in the city of Brampton.
